Frankie A. Mitchell, AGNP-C, CWON | Nurse Practitioner Certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Frankie A. Mitchell is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. She received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Georgia College and State University in 2007. She underwent additional training at Emory University Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Education Center to obtain wound and ostomy nursing certifications in March 2014. Wound care became her passion and she worked at Emory University Hospital as an inpatient certified wound and ostomy nurse for 6 years. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University for Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner in 2020.
She began working as a nurse practitioner at Physicians Pointe in 2020 in Lawrenceville, Georgia specializing in primary and urgent care. In May 2021, she was recruited to Northside Gwinnett for a nurse practitioner position at Northside Gwinnett Wound Treatment Center. She transferred to Gwinnett Surgical Specialists in June 2023. Frankie’s approach to patient care is holistic and compassionate. Her clinical practice has a strong focus on preventative health with a strong emphasis of identifying any barriers to care and preserving the quality of life. She partners with
patients and their families to develop an individualized evidence-based plan of care to support the best patient outcomes. She is skilled at in-office procedures including incision and drainage, punch biopsy, simple suturing, drain removal, wound assessment/treatment, wound debridement and application of negative pressure wound therapy. Frankie sees patients in the office Monday thru Friday at the Northside Gwinnett Lawrenceville campus.
